"Oh my days"

That's a fucking strange expression when you think about it.
What's the origin of that, you reckon?
Cunts.

I think of it as something a conservative maybe rural old woman would say. Something you would hear in an old movie.
Interesting to hear it has other usage.
By the way, language never stops changing, getting angry about it really has to be a fruitlessly exhausting task.

It apparently shows up in Wingless Victory, a 1907 novel, by a prolific if not profoundly skilled author named Mary Patricia Willcocks. She was from Exeter and wrote in the style of Thomas Hardy, even did a little literary criticism on him and others.

I hate this phrase. My kids came home from school saying it. I had to remind them they are English and therefore should not speak like Jamaicans.

"Oh my days" sounds a bit camp. I prefer to use "Well I'll be damned".

Oh my days was said a lot in my translation of Don Quixote. I think that was done in Victorian times

It's one of those expressions that have crept in like Back in the Day. Which basically used to be called Before.
As for Oh my Days I think it's an expression of exasperation isn't it? I prefer OH FOR FUCKS SAKE
